Andrew Bynum gets two-year incentive laden deal with Cleveland
The Cleveland Cavaliers have rolled the dice and used most of their remaining cap room to sign injury plagued big man Andrew Bynum. The ex-Laker/76er will get a two-year $24.5 million dollar deal of which just $6 million is guaranteed. Bynum has had chronic knee problems and didn’t play a game last year after moving from the Lakers to Philadelphia in the original Dwight Howard deal. If Bynum is even somewhat healthy, he could be the key to luring Lebron James back to Cleveland. James can opt out of his deal with the heat at the end of the 2014 season.

NFL mandate to players, no pads means no play
The NFL will enforce a enacted in 2012 mandating that players on the field must wear knee and thigh pads. Several big name players blasted the rule preferring instead to pay fines. Compliance will not be an option this year as players not wearing the pads will be removed from games. Equipment manufactures have been working at a fever pitch to improve the comfort, weight and safety aspects of the pads.
Marshall Henderson suspended indefinitely by Ole Miss
Shooting guard Marshall Henderson’s future at Ole Miss is in jeopardy after he was suspended by the school for reportedly failing drug tests. Henderson averaged 20.1 ppg for the Rebels who upset Florida in the SEC championship game and advanced to the round of 32 in the Big Dance last March. The brash Henderson had previously attended Utah and Texas Tech and has served time in jail for previous drug transgressions.
