Under the new structure that would start next year, the league would operate split conferences with 16 teams in the East and 14 teams in the West. Winnipeg would move to the West with Detroit and Chicago moving to the East. This would cut travel for all but the two Florida teams and open the door for expansion if the league so desires.
Denny Hamlin is hot and will appeal 25K fine
Denny Hamlin is mad as hell and not going to pay the $25,000 dollar fine levied against him this week for making “disparaging” remarks about the new Gen-6 car. Hamlin says that he was not dogging the car but simply stating his opinion. He feels strongly enough about the incident that he will go through the appeals process and ultimately risk suspension if losses and still does not pay. Until then it will be business as usual in Las Vegas. After watching this clip and hearing Nascar’s side of the story you can’t help but root for Hamlin.
