MLB News and Notes
Met first baseman Ike Davis snapped a 2-44 slump at the plate with an eighth inning two-run single as the Mets snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Braves on the ESPN late show. Now can someone explain to us how a guy playing a power position could be on a major league roster ???
Arizona’s Patrick Corbin became the first Diamond back lefty to open a season 8-0 as the Snakes beat the Padres 6-5. Corbin didn’t have his best stuff but gutted out six innings to get the win.
The Angels came back from down 2-0 in the seventh to beat Kansas City 5-2. The Halos swept the weekend series with the Royals and have now won eight straight. Josh Hamilton got the offense going with a solo home-run and then took the lead beating up on reliever Bruce Chen.
