Spurs a -1 point favorite in Game IV, the total 186 1/2
The San Antonio Spurs look to increase their NBA Final series lead to 3-1 with a win tonight in Alamo City. The home team opened as a two-point favorite but has dropped like a stone in the face of Miami’s 11-0 SU and ATS mark following their L11 straight up losses. ESPN is reporting that Tony Parker WILL play in the game. Parker had a MRI done on his sore hamstring which revealed a minor strain rather than a tear which would have likely shelved the All-Star point guard for the rest of the series.
Blackhawks draw first blood with triple-overtime win
The Boston Bruins gave one away on Wednesday blowing two two-goal leads before losing Game I of the Stanley Cup finals 4-3 in triple ovretime. Andrew Shaw got the winner on a tip-in in the 102nd minute of extra time. The Bruins led 2-0 and 3-1 with eight minutes left in the game before giving up late markers to Dave Bolland and Johnny Oduya. The 112 minutes made it the fifth longest game is Stanley Cup Finals history.
Game II is Saturday at the United Center with the Blackhawks -150 favorites. The total opened five flat shaded 40 cents to the under.
Jason Kidd gets three-year deal with the Nets
Nine days after announcing his retirement as an active player, Jason Kidd has been hired as the coach of the Brooklyn Nets. Kidd was impressive in his interview and reportedly closed the deal by agreeing to bring in a staff that includes former Net coach Lawrence Franks and first-year coach assistant guru Dave Wohl. Also a former coach of the Nets (1985-1987), Wohl was part of Ron Rothstein and Doc Rivers first staffs and was part of championships with the Lakers and Celtics.
MLB News and Notes
One day after several beanballs and a brawl that triggered five ejections, the Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers 8-6 in 12 peaceful innings. The game was tied at 4-4 after nine innings before the Snakes posted four in the top of the 12th while the Dodgers could manage just a deuce of their own. Cody Ross and Miguel Montero each had four hits for the winners. Phenom Yasie Puig didn’t not play because of a sore shoulder.
Rain delays US Open
Rain has been the story all week at the US Open and rain is the story on Thursday already having caused several delays in play. Tee times have been set back for all golfers not already on the course including Tiger Woods who is now scheduled to get underway at 4:38 PM EST.

Nascar driver Jason Leffler was killed in a dirt car event in New Jersey on Wednesday. He was 37. Malkin gets new eight-year deal with the Penguins
The Pittsburg Penguins have inked All-Star Evgeni Malkin to an right-year extension that will pay him $76 million dollars through 2022. The $9.5 million dollar a year cap hit makes Malkin the second highest paid player in the NHL after Alex Ovechkin.
