Manziel tells NCAA he took no money
NCAA investigators interviewed Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel for six hours on Sunday. CBS Sports is reporting that Manziel denied taking money for signing autographs in the off season. Texas A&M opens it’s season Saturday against Rice and will then face top-ranked Alabama on September 14th. Met’s Harvey done for 2013 with partial UCL tear
The New York Met’s nightmare 2013 season has gotten even worse after it was revealed that rookie phenom Matt Harvey has a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow and will miss the rest of the season. Further tests will be done today on the elbow and possible Tommy John surgery has not been ruled out.

The St Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-6 on Monday to take over sole possession of first place in the N.L. Central, a half game better than the Pittsburg Pirates who were idle.
Alex Rodriguez hit his 650th career home run last night in the Yankees 5-2 loss at Toronto. A-Rod is now just 10 bombs behind Willie Mays for fourth place on the All-Time home run list.

The NFL has suspended Minnesota Viking Jerome Felton for three games for violating the league’s banned substance policy. Felton was the key to Adrian Peterson’s monster 2097 yard season last year. Peterson averaged 7.25 yards-per-carry with Felton out of a two back set. He averaged just 3.8 yards-per-carry out of a single back set.
The NFLPA has filed a grievance for Aaron Hernandez to collect an 82K bonus due for completing a spring offseason workout program. The money was due August 1st. The Patriots cut Hernandez after he was arrested on a murder charge back on June 19th.
Tony Parker hurts his knee playing for France
Tony Parker has hurt his knee playing for the French national team. Parker underwent an MRI today and reports from L’Equipe say that the injury was not serious and that Parker still plans to play for France in next week’s Euros.
Is Lamar Odom in L.A. dealing with a drug problem ???
After rumors that he had been missing for more than 72 hours, ESPN is reporting that Lamar Odom has been sequestered in a Los Angeles hotel in a reported drug intervention. Odom, 33, averaged 4.0 points and 5.9 rebounds in 82 games for the Clippers last season. Currently a free agent, Odom is reportedly being pursued by his old team, the Lakers.
