Hoston administers 125-80 beating to the Jazz in Utah

It took a little while to get to Salt Lake City but when they finally arrived, Houston was ready to play. The Rockets were late getting in after being delayed by blizzard conditions in Utah but when they hit the floor smokin’, handing the Jazz a 45-point beatdown, the worst home loss in franchise history. The Jazz led by 50 with 20 seconds left before Utah added a layup and a three for the final margin. James Harden led Houston with 25 and the Rockets knocked down 16 of 34 treys in the blowout. Omer Asik had a career high 19 rebounds for the winners.

Tiger gets eighth career win at Torrey Pines

Despite two bogeys and a double-bogey down the stretch, Tiger Woods still managed a final round 72 and cruise to a four-shot win at the fog-delayed Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines. It was Tiger’s 75th career PGA victory and his record eighth over the Torrey Pines course. Woods finished 14-under for the tournament, four shots better than Brandt Snedeker and Josh Teater.

Montreal finally inks top defenseman Subban

The Canadiens and defenseman PK Subban agreed to a two-year deal worth $5.65 million. Subban will get $2 million this year and $3.65 million in year two. The 23-year-old restricted free agent led Hab defensemen in ice-time last year with better than 24 minutes per game. Subban has put up 76 points in 160 regular-season games and was an all-rookie selection in 2010-11.
