NBA Free Agency Updates
Dwight Howard will meet with the Mavs and Lakers today as he completes his free agency tour. He met with Houston, Golden State and Atlanta yesterday. Howard reportedly told the Rockets, generally considered the front-runner for D-12’s services, that they would need to sign a third max player to go along with James Harden. The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly offered restricted free agent Tyreke Evans a four-year $44 million dollar offer sheet. Andrew Bynum will not work out for teams during his free agency. Bynum sat out all of last year with a knee injury and never played a game for the 76ers who acquired him in a multi-team trade involving Dwight Howard.
Giants and Victor Cruz close to long-term deal
The New York football Giants and wide out Victor Cruz will reportedly have a long-term deal done by the start of training camp. Cruz signed a $2.879 tender sheet (which prevents him from holding out) a few weeks ago as a good faith gesture and it looks like the Giants are keeping their end of the bargain.
