West favored over the East in tonight’s NBA All-Star Game

The NBA All-Star Game will be played today in Houston and the West squad has been installed a 2 1/2 point favorite with the total a whopping 295.5 bet up from 290. Remeber that the rising star game Friday night ended 163-135. The first NBA All-Star game was played March 2, 1951 in Boston Garden. The east beat the West 111-94 and the Celtics “Easy” Ed Macauley was the first MVP. The East leads the series 36-25. This will be Kobe Bryant’s 15th straigh All-Star game.

The Raptor’s Terrence Ross is the new slam dunk champion

Duke was outrebounded 40-20 in the game and never led in the second half. POY candidate Mason Plumlee was held to four points and three rebounds.

Defending champion Haas leads by three after three round at Riviera

Bill Hass shot a bogey-free 64 to grab a three-shot lead heading into Sunday’s final round of the Northern Trust Open at Pebble Beach. Haas won the event last year and will try to become just the eighth back-to-back winner in the event. Webb Simpson, Charl Schwartzel and Luke Donald are among the group of seven within five shots and with a realistic shot of running Haas down.

Baroa defends Bantamweight title with submission

Renan Baroa defended his interim UFC Bamtanweight title with a fourth round arm triangle submission of Michael McDonald. Since losing the first fight of his career, Baroa has run off one of the longest win streaks in MMA history, no at 30 straight fights with one no-contest. Baroa now waits for Dominick Cruz to recover from ACL surgey and a unification fight. Baroa also took home a $50,000 bonus for submission of the night.
