Nets and Knicks finish 2-2 in new New York rivalry

In the not too distant past, when the Knicks and Nets played at the Meadowlands, it was really just another Knick home game. Now with the move to the state-the-art Barclay Center and a revamped Nets lineup, there is now a legitimate rivalry for Big Apple supremacy. This year, it may come down to a potential meeting in the playoffs as the Nets gained a 2-2 series split on Monday with an 88-85 victory over the Nets at Madison Square Garden. Joe Johnson led the way for Brooklyn with 25 points. Carmelo countered with 29 for the home team. Deron Williams had 14 points and 12 assists but missed hist first free throw since December 29th ending a string of 51 straight from the charity stripe.
