Buckeyes thump Hoosiers in Bloomington
Indiana was in position to claim their first outright Big Ten title in 20 years with a win Tuesday night but someone forgot to tell Ohio State. The Buckeyes got 18 points and 8 rebounds from Deshaun Thomas and a 15-4-4 game line from Aaron Craft to down the Hoosiers 67-58 and delay Indiana’s celebration at least a few more nights. Indiana can still seal the deal with a win on Sunday vs No.7 Michigan.

Should visors be mandatory in hockey ???
Head shots and chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) have become a big part of the off the field news in the NFL. In 1979, the NHL mandated that all new players entering the league would be required to wear helmets. The Oilers Craig MacTavish was the last helmetless player when he retired in 1997. Watch this clip of the Rangers Marc Staal getting hit in the face with a slap shot and decide for yourself whether visors should be mandated. Thankfully, the shot was tipped and Stall didn’t take the full brunt of the blast. Down for several minutes and bleeding, in true hockey fashion, Staal stood up and skated off under his own power. His condition has not been updated as of this writing.
Real Madrid eliminates Manchester Untited with 2-1 win at Old Trafford
It was a bitter sweet win for Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who netted the game winner or Real Madrid’s 2-1 Champions League win over Manchester United. It was Ronaldo’s first return to Old Trafford where he played from 2003-2009 before his $131 million dollar transfer to Real Madrid. The match was marred by a controversial red card shown to Man U’s Nani for a studs up tackle in the 56th minute. At the time, the premiership leaders were leading 1-0 but were unable to stave off Real a man down.
Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner gets fifth year
The Michigan Wolverines will have a veteran quarterback when they hit the field in 2013. Devin Gardner was granted a medical redshirt and will now have a fifth year of eligibility. Gardner, who played just three games as a freshman because of injury, delayed applying for the exemption as the school was under the impresion that he must use his remaining eligibility first. He completed 75 of 126 passes last season for 1,219 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions in five games after an injury to Denard Robinson in the Nebraska game.
