Lebron layup at the buzzer, Heat in OT
In arguably the best NBA playoff game of the season, Miami beat Indiana 103-102 in overtime to take a 1-0 lead in their Eastern Conference final series with the Pacers. Lebron James had a 30/10/10 triple-double and scored four points in the final ten seconds of overtime for the win. Paul George has 27 points including a LONG desperation three with 00:7 second left in regulation to force the extra five minutes but in the end, George was also the goat.
The final ten seconds of the game went like this. James scored on a layup with nine seconds left to give Miami 101-99 lead. Dwayne Wade fouled George shooting a three with three seconds left. George calmly stepped to the line and knocked down all three free-throws to give the Pacers a 102-101 lead. With 2.2 seconds left coming out of a time out, Shane Battier inbounded the ball to Lebron who did a simple spin move around George on a clear out and laid the ball in at the buzzer. Roy Hibbert was removed before each of the two Heat final possessions, a move that will be second guessed for years to come.
The game featured 18 ties and 17 lead changes. The Heat never covered their 8/8.5 point impost at any time during the game. Indiana’s biggest lead was seven. Game II is at 8:35 PM EST on Friday in South Beach. Miami is a -7 point favorite with the total set at 180 1/2.
Pens drill Sens 7-3 to take 3-1 series lead
The Pittsburg Penguins blew open a close game with three goals in a 1:46 span midway through the third period to rout the Ottawa Senators 7-3. James Neal and Jerome Igilna each had two goals while Kris Letang chipped in with four assists from the point. Pittsburg can eliminate Ottawa in Game Five at the Igloo Friday night.

49ers Crabtree tears achilles, out six months
San Francisco 49er WR Michael Crabtree has torn his achilles tendon and will miss be out at least six months. Crabtree sustained the injuries during team OTAs and had successful surgery on Wednesday. While there is no timetable for his return, the normal six month rehab would make his return somewhere around Week 12. Crabtree, drafted 10th overall in 2009, didn’t emerge as a playmaker until last season when he racked up 85 receptions for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns. The former Texas Tech Red Raider blossomed with the emergence of Colin Kaepernick and quickly became his main target.
