The Knicks beat Golden State 109-105 on Wednesday night despite 54 points from the Warriors Stephen Curry. In the most electrifying shooting performance of the season, Curry shot 18-28 from the field including 11-for-13 from behind the arc. The former Davidson star couldn’t miss as he almost single-handedly kept Golden State in the game. Carmelo Anthony had 35 for the Knicks while Tyson Chandler had 16 points and 28 rebounds for New York. The Warriors played without power forward David Lee who was suspended for one game for his Tuesday fracas with Indiana on Tuesday night.
Alex Smith to the Chiefs for second-rounder + 2014 provisional pick
The NFL’s worst kept secret is out. The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly agreed to send quarterback Alex Smith’s to the Chiefs for their second-round draft pick this year and a provision mid-level pick in 2014. Plans are for Kansas City to release Matt Cassel and for Smith to play under the terms of his current contract which will pay him a guaranteed base of $8.5 million in 2013. No talks of an extension between Smith and the Chiefs have been reported.

Former WNBAer Chamique Holdsclaw charged in shooting
Former WNBA star Chamique Holdsclaw has been indicted for a November 2012 shooting incident in Atlanta. Holdsclaw, 35, was charged with aggravated assault, criminal damage and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and is currently out on $100,000 bail. Holdsclaw won three National Championships under Pat Summit at Tennessee, is an Olympic gold medalist and a five-time WNBA All-Star. Holdsclaw has battled depression for many years.
