Adam Scott leads British Open at by four strokes

The Claret Jug is Adam Scott’s to lose as he takes a four shot lead into Sunday’s final round of The Open. Scott shot a two-under 68 on Saturday which distanced his from half-way leader Brandt Snedeker (73) and Tiger Woods who could only manage an even par 70. Tiger will be paired with Snedeker in the second to the last pairing and will start the day five back. Graeme McDowell will play with Scott after a three-under round of 67 on Saturday. Ernie Els and Zach Johnson are both lurking at five-under for tournament.

The Angel’s Dan Haren makes his first start off the DL, he had a 9.00 ERA in his five prior starts.

The Braves are 10-3 in their L13 games. The Pirates are 11-2 in their L13 home games. The A’s have won 13 of 15 and have the best record in baseball in July. The Mets are fading fast with one win since the All-Star break and are 1-8 in their L9 games. The Astros are now an incredible 1-18 in their L19 with suitcase. Kansas City is 2-9 in it’s L11.

UFC 149: Faber vs Barao Results

Saturday night at UFC 149 in Calgary … Renan Barao dominated Urijah Faber start to finish to win the interim UFC bantamweight title. Baroa used a stiff jab and stinging leg kicks to neutralize the little offense “The California Kid” could muster. The judges had it 49-46, 50-45, 49-46 for the Brazilian. It was Barao’s 32nd straight fight without a loss, the longest current run in MMA. Barao will now wait for Dominick Cruz to recover from ACL surgery and a unification fight. In the co-main event, Tim Boetsch ruined highly touted Hector Lombard’s UFC debut winning a split decision. Boetsch, a +270 underdog, was a able to keep Lombard at bay with a leg kicks and enough take down attempts to keep the Cuban honest. Lombard saw his 20 fight win streak and 25 fight unbeaten streak come to an end.

Marathoner will compete under the Olympic flag

Guor Marial, a U.S. based former refugee from Souther Sundan has been granted permission by the IOC to compete in the marathon under the Olympic flag at the London Olympics. Marial moved to the United States as a refugee when he was a child and even though he has permanent residence in the U.S., he isn’t yet an American citizen. He has no passport and is not represented by a national Olympic committee. South Sudan gained independence last year after breaking away from Sudan but doesn’t yet have a recognized Olympic body.
