(MLB) Dodgers (Kershaw)/St Louis (Wacha) Under 5.5 (Friday, October 18, 2013 8:35 PM EST)
Wow !!! Five and a hook. Six and a hook is always dicey but now we’re entering uncharted waters in these playoffs. Pitching has dominated and figures to be dominant here with two razor sharp starters. Kershaw has been lights out all year long and is one of those “one on every team” kind of guys that doesn’t always get a lot of run support. Kershaw is 17-10 with a 1.73 ERA for the year and 3-1 with a 1.13 ERA in his last five. The loss was five days ago, a 1-0 loss to Michael Wacha and the Cards in Game II. Wacha has won his last three starts allowing just one run and seven hits in 22 1/3 innings of work. As previously mentioned, he was beat Kershaw in Game II in his only lifetime start against the Dodgers. The Cardinals have scored just 12 runs in the series but lead 3-2. Both pitchers are on normal rest so both can leave it on the field here. The Card pen is one of the best in baseball. Really tough to pick a side in this elimination game but if both starts flash anything of their current form, the first team to three wins. Play the Under.
