(NCAAF) Oregon State -10.5 over California (Saturday, October 19, 2013 10:30 PM EST)
The Cal Bears are in rebuilding mode and hard trying but the fact is that they are just not very good. In fact, the boys from Beserkly are one of a couple of teams in FBS that are yet to cover a game. In their defense, the Bears have faced a tough schedule but they just can’t stop a nose bleed and their five Div-I losses are all by 18+ points. Oregon State was highly touted starting the year but were immediately dismissed after dropping their opener to Easter Washington. The Beavers have quietly won five straight, the last two in very impressive fashion and have now cracked the top 25 and get one last soft touch before facing the meat of their schedule. It is always dicey taking a one-dimensional team like OSU but what they do they do very very well and that is throw the ball around. The Beavers get 433 of their 507 ypg through the air and they should be able to pad that number against a Cal defense that just surrendered 931 yard through the air in the last two weeks, 521 to Washington State and 410 to UCLA who called off the dogs early. Add to the mix that the State defense is just starting to find itself in creating 10 takeaways the last two weeks and you could have a game that gets ugly early. Oregon State wire-to-wire 55-24.
