(NCAAF) Western Michigan/Northern Illinois Over 63.5 (Tuesday, November 26, 2013 7:00 PM EST)
Northern Illinois is unbeaten and looking for its second straight BCS Bowl bid. The Huskies will need some help and will also need some style points here. NIU is 9-3 over the last 12 in the series and winning the last four meetings by an average score of 42-20. Northern has also covered seven straight in the series at Huskie Stadium but prefer the high/low rather than laying five touchdowns and probably more by game time. If you’ve watched NIU the last two weeks in their prime time wins over Ball State and Toledo, you can’t help but be impressed with Huskie QB Jordan Lynch and an argument could be made that this kid should e getting some Heisman buzz. In NIU’s last five games, Lynch has rushed for 818 yards (163.6 per) with 13 TDs and thrown for 1085 yards more (217 per) completing 89 of 117 passes (76%) with eight TDs and just one pick. The Huskies have throttled this kind dropping 59 on Eastern Michigan, 63 on UMass and even 55 on Purdue. The Northern Illinois defense is not nearly as proficient as the offense allowing 24.5 points-per-game so we can figure on Western Michigan to get some themselves even if they during garbage time. The last two games produced 82 and 73 points and we figure to see at least 70 here with weather being only marginally problematic with a game time temp of 26 with no precipitation in the forecast. Play the over.
