Michigan State -21.5 over Central Michigan
The Spartans just couldn’t have been any more inept vs the Notre Dame than they were last week and that includes some rediculous play calling and decisions by the coaching staff. The Chips are way down from their Dan LeFevour days and the CMU defense took some major hits on defense via graduation. Central Mich has played Sparty tough (6-0 ATS L6) and owns an upset as recently as 2009. Even with Ohio State on deck, expect the Spartans to take this game very seriously. In fact, expect Dantonio to put the pedal to the metal as MSU looks to regain it’s swagger.
Miss State -19.5 over Louisiana Tech
The Bulldogs will enjoy the extra time to regroup after games vs Auburn and LSU. Dan Mullen has shown little use for non-conference foes going 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS against non-SEC opponents avgg 45 ppg on 523 ypg. The winning non-cover can certainly be excused as it came the week after upsetting Florida in Gainesville. La Tech has shown so spunk and is decent against their own kind but … these Bulldogs have not traveled well of late and they’ll be physically outmanned at every turn. MSU is another team looking to regain it’s confidence before facing Georgia and they get the job done is a big way here. Miss Sate 45-14.
Green Bay/Chicago Over 46
The Packer pass defense has major problems allowing 800 yards through the air to Cam Newton and Drew Brees and now they are without 3X Pro Bowler Nick Collins for the season. Now Jay Cutler has never thrown for more than 218 vs the Packers as a Bear but he should have some success here. The Bears gave up 450 yards and 30 points to the Saints last week so you know Aaron Rodgers will be ready to roll after leaving lots of meat on the bome last week in Carolina. The last five games of the series have all been low scoring producing just 35, 13, 37, 35, and 36 points (all unders) but that changes here in a shootout at Soldier’s Field.
San Diego -14.5 over Kansas City
This isn’t piling on the Chiefs who lost their first two games by 41-7 and 48-3. It’s more a vote for the Chargers who are on the verge of putting a complete game together after a lacklustre win over the Vikings and getting mauled last week in New England. The Chiefs are anything but on the warpath racking up a mere 480 yards of total offense in their first two games. In their trip here last year, a 31-0 loss to the Bolts, KC managed just 5 FDs and 67 total yards of offense. The Chargers are still stinging from the beating administered to them by the Pats. Expect Norv Turner’s bunch to return the favor to a reeling division rival. San Diego 38-10.
