(NCAAF) Ohio State -5.5 over Michigan State (Saturday, December 7, 2013 8:00 PM EST)
Offense vs defense in the Big Ten championship game as the nation’s No.3 offense takes on the nation’s No.1 defense. The Buckeyes are yet to lose under Urban Meyer winning 24 straight games. Ohio State has been ripped for their schedule but they’ve pretty much throttled everyone put in front of them and a win here would pretty much lock up a date with Florida State in the national championship game. The Bucks have won eight of nine in the series (6-2 ATS L8) despite the last two games being decided by a combined four points. OSU failed to cover their last three games but keep in mind that two of the three wins were by 28 and 25 points and the dogs called off late. Michigan State sports a big physical defense but a much less potent Nebraska team did whatever it wanted scoring 28 points and racking up 400+ yards offense despite five turnovers. Ohio State will get theirs by the final gun ….. but will/can the Spartans get theirs ??? We don’t think so !!! The Buckeye defense is adequate at best but they are staunch against the run and brutal defending the pass. The resurgent Sparty offense has started to run the ball with two stud backs but they don’t throw the ball a lick and that will be determining factor, especially if Mich State gets down early. This is really the first time an OSU team has a chance to flex it’s muscles under Meyer. They do so here and come away with a fairly easy two touchdown win.
