David Ortiz continued his torrid World Series run with the bat and Jon Lester pitched 7 2/3 of four-hit one-run ball as the Boston Red Sox beat St Louis 3-1 Monday to take a 3-2 lead back to Boston for Game Six of the World Series. Ortiz went three-for-four including an RBI double in the first to open the scoring and is now 11-15 in the Series with two homers and six RBIs. Boston can claim their first World Series win at Fenway Park since 1918 if they can win one of the final two games. Game VI is Wednesday in Boston where Cardinal rookie phenom Michael Wacha faces Boston’s John Lackey. The line at this writing is Boston -119 with the total 7 shaded 20 cents to the Under.

Seattle survives no offense and seven sacks for 14-9 win

The Seattle Seahawks used a goal line stand on the final Ram drive and two Russell Wilson to Golden Tate touchdown passes to edge the Rams 14-9 Monday night in Seattle. The Hawks could only muster 135 total yards of offense and had the ball just 22 minutes to St Louis’s 38 minutes of TOP. Zac Stacy rushed for 134 yards on 26 carries in defeat. Seattle’s 135 yards was the least amount gained in a win in the NFL since 2000 and also set a franchise record for least yards in a win.
