Tampa Bay benches Josh Freeman, Glennon gets start
The Josh Freeman era at Tampa Bay would appear to be over as the Bucs announced early this morning that draft pick Mike Glennon would start on Sunday. Freeman has gotten off to a rough start this season for his 0-3 squad, completing 45.7 percent of his passes for 571 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He is in the final year of his rookie contract and the team has showed no interest in signing Freeman to an extension. The team announced that it made the move this week with the bye week up next giving the team two weeks to evaluate Glennon, a 3rd-round pick out of North Carolina State (6’7″ classic pocket passer) who struggled in the preseason.
Indiana locks up Paul George with 5-year $90 million max deal
The Indiana Pacers and Paul George made it official Wednesday, agreeing to a five-year max contract worth $90 million. The cash value of the deal is actually a guaranteed $80 million but would jump to $90 million if George were to win an MVP or be named to the All-NBA team during the deal. George averaged 17.4, 7.6, 4.1 in a tick less than 38 minutes per game. George is also an elite defensive player which made the deal easy to do for the Pacers.
Card’s Wacha losses no-hitter with two out in the ninth
Ryan Zimmermann beat out an infield dribbler over the mound with two outs in the ninth to deny Cardinal rookie Michael Wacha a not hitter. Wacha, in just his ninth career start, was looking for baseball’s third no-hitter in 2013. Instead, he bacame the third pitcher this year to lose a no-hitter with two out in the ninth. Wacha was pulled after the hit but improved to 4-1 for the year as the Cardinals beat Washington 2-0.

Oriole 3rd baseman Manny Machado caught a break when it was revealed that his injured knee was less serious than originally thought. Machado tore the patella tendon in his left knee while running out a ground ball on Monday. Machado will need 6-8 weeks before he can resume light running.
The Tampa Bay Rays are now one game from clinching their fourth playoff berth in six years after beating the Yankees 7-0 and sending the Bronx Bombers to the brink of playoff elimination. A Yankee loss or Indian win would keep New York out of the playoffs for just the second time in 19 years. The Bombers 75 losses are the most by the team since the Yanks lost 86 times in 1992.

Brian Hoyer will start for the Browns after leading Cleveland to their first win in Week III.
Cowboy DE Anthony Spencer was officially put on IR and will have season ending micro-fracture surgery on his knee. Spencer was tagged with his second franchise designation this year and will be a free agent at the end of the season.
Pittsburgh rookie RB Le’Veon Bell has been cleared to play and will travel with the team to London for Sunday’s game vs the Vikings.
