Three-run seventh send Cards home with a split

Cardinal rookie phenom took a 1-0 lead into the Boston sixth before getting lit by a two-run homer by David Ortiz. Tampa Bay falls to 0-7 after 31-13 spanking by Carolina

Cam Newton threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Carolina Panthers rolled to their third straight win at Tampa Bay. Newton was 23-32 for 223 and also ran for 55 yards. Mike Glennon was 30-51 for 275 meaningless yards. The Bucs were unable to find the end zone until there was just three minutes left in the game. Favorite and Over players cashed their tickets. Tampa Bay fell to 4-17 ATS in their L21 games as a home dog.

Boise State at BYU tonight in key Mountain West tilt

Just one game in college football tonight as Boise State travels to Provo, Utah to face BYU. The Cougars are -7 point favorites with the total down a point-and-a-half to 61. Kickoff is at 8:00 PM EST with perfect weather expected and a game time temperature of 61. Watch and win on ESPN.

76ers cut Royce White, season starts Tuesday

Nationals name Matt Williams as new manager

Former San Francisco Giants and Arizona DBack third-baseman Matt Williams has been named the new manager of the Washington Nationals replacing the retired Davey Johnson. It will be Williams first managerial gig. Since 2010 he’s been on the DBack staff with Kirk Gibson as the first and third base coach.
