The latest in the Johnny Manziel off-season saga is a report from ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” that has last year’s Heisman Trophy winner signing hundreds of autographs the night before the Alabama/Notre Dame national championship game for a five-figure fee. Read all the details here.
PED suspensions to be announced today at 3:00 PM EST ???
The long wait could be over today as MLB will reportedly announce the Biogensis PED suspensions today at 3:00 PM EST.
Twelve players will reportedly be announced. First time offenders will get 50 games. According to reports, Alex Rodriguez will get 214 games, the rest of this year and all of 2014. MLB has decided to make the Rodriguez suspension a PED suspension rather than a commissioner’s suspension so he will be able to play on appeal. A-Rod will likely be in the Yankee lineup tonight in Chicago.

The Atlanta Braves downed the Phillies 4-1 in the ESPN late game for their 10th straight win. Chris Johnson’s two-run single in the first as all the Braves needed as Alex Wood and three relievers combined on a four-hitter. Atlanta’s lead in the N.L. East is now 12 1/2 games over Washington.
The Dodgers won their 14th straight road game, one away from tying the MLB record, with Sunday’s 1-0 win over the Cubs completing a four-game sweep. The Bums only got two hits in the game but made made them count scratching out a run in the second. The 1957 Reds hold the MLB record with 15 straight road wins. The Dodgers send out Zack Greinke tonight in St Louis.
Cowboys down the Dolphins in the Hall of Fame game
The Dallas Cowboys the ball for 170 yards and the Cowboy defense created two turnovers resulting in 14 points as the Cowboys stopped Miami 24-20 in the NFL’s preseason opener. Players took in in the shorts as Miami, who took all the money going from +1 to -2 1/2 in some houses, fumbled on it’s own eight on it’s first offensive play and were never in the game. There were 24 fourth quarter points, 14 in the final two minutes, to get the 33 point over.
Tiger wraps up eighth Bridgestone title
Tiger Woods took a victory tour of the Firestone Country Club on Sunday, shooting an even par 70 to win his 8th World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational. Wood throttle a field of 73 which included 49 of the 50 top-ranked golfers in the world by a whopping seven shots. It was the tour’s final tuneup before this weeks PGA championship at Oak Hill.
Kahne tops Gordon to take checkered flag at Pocono
Kasey Kahne passes Jeff Gordon with two laps remaining to notch his second win of the season Sunday at Pocono. Gordon held for second with Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. rounding out the top five. Points leader Jimmie Johnson led 43 laps but slammed the wall after a blow out and finished 13th.
Colt HOFer and legendary storyteller Artie Donovan dead at 89
NFL Hall of Famer Artie Donovan has passed from a respiratory ailment at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium, Maryland. Donovan played in the league for 12 years with the Colts and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame id 1968. Donovan became famous in later life as a beer pitch man, funny man and storyteller.
