Greinke breaks collarbone in Dodgers/Padres brawl

Dodger pitcher Zack Greinke will be out at least two months after breaking his collar bone in a brawl. Greinke plunked Carlos Quinton after Padre starter Jason Marquis came inside on Matt Kemp at the top of the inning. Quinton charged the mound and and Geinke was hurt in the ensuing meele. Bulls stop Knick win streak at 13

The streakbusters were at it again last night. Just two weeks after snapping the Miami Heat’s epic 27-game win streak, the Bulls stopped the Knicks current 13 game run with a 118-111 overtime win at the United Center. New York came out flying and led by 17 early after a barrage of three-pointers but the Bulls chipped away to cut the deficit to four at the half. The second half was mainly all Chicago as the Bulls pulled away to a 10-point lead in the final five minutes but ….. back roared the Knicks to force extra time after two Carmelo Anthony four shots tied things at 105 with 16 seconds left. Nate Robinson had a career night against his ex-mates with 35 points off the bench. Jimmy Butler chipped in with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony continued his assault on the scoring title with 36 point and also pulled down 19 rebounds.

The Masters Thursday Day One recap

Sergio Garcia and Aussie Marc Leisham both shot six-under 66’s to share the first round lead of the Masters. Dustin Johnson is a shot back. Tiger Woods is four back posting three birdies and a bogey in his opening round 70. Three-time Masters winner Phil Mickelson is T-23rd, five back after a pedestrian round of 71. Second choice Rory McIlroy is at even par. Other notables were Freddie Couples (-4), Trevor Immelman (-4), Adam Scott (-3), and Ernie Els (-1). Defending champion Bubba Watson limped home after a three-over 75.

NFL News and Notes

The Patriots have re-signed WR/returner Julian Edelman to a new deal. Edelman caught 21 passes for 235 yards and three touchdowns last season before going on injured reserve with a foot injury. He’s returned three punts for touchdowns in his career including a franchise record 94-yarder against the Dolphins in 2010.

The Seattle Seahawks have signed Brady Quinn to back up starting quarterback Russel Wilson.

Former Cowboy and Bear wide receiver Sam Hurd plead guilty to a drug distribution charge on Thursday and will likely be sentenced to a minimum of ten years. Hurd, 27, pleaded guilty in federal court in Dallas to one count of possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute. He pleaded guilty days before his trial was scheduled to begin, without any promise of a more lenient sentence. He’ll be sentenced in July.

Darrelle Revis, who is rehabbing a knee after season-ending surgery last fall, will report to the Jet’s firts OTA on Monday. Revis is required to participate in at least 80% of the teams off-season programs or forfeit $3 million in bonus money.

Bama’s Eddie Lacy finally runs for 40 time

The top rated running back in this year’s NFL draft class finally ran for a 40 time as scouts looked on. Alabama’s Eddie Lacy has been nursing a hamstring injury suffered in the Tide’s National Championship game win over Notre Dame. Lacy was timed at 4.59 and 4.62 which would rank him 1th among the backs that ran at the combine. Lacy is projected as a late first-round or early second round pick.
