Kelly returns with 36 a Duke gets by Miami 79-76

Tony Parker out a month with Grade II ankle sprain

The league leading San Antonio Spurs took a big hit o Saturday when it was announced that MVP candidate Tony Parker would miss at least four weeks with a left ankle injury. Parker, 30, is averaging 21.1 points and 7.6 assists in 56 games this season. The 46-14 Spurs will have Gary Neal, Patty Mills, Manu Ginobili and Nando De Colo run the point by committee.

Randy Moss will not return to the 49ers

Despite coach Jim Harbaugh and and quarterback Colin Kaepernick wanting him back, it looks like Randy Moss will not be returning to San Francisco next year. Moss reportedly ruffled feathers during Super Bowl media week when he displayed his displeasure at his limited role in the 49er offense. Moss seemed to confirm the parting of ways on twitter ….

Messi scores but Real Madrid wins 2-1

For the second time in five days, Real Madrid has beaten Barcelona. Tuesday, the Blancos won 3-1 to eliminate Barcelona in the Copa Del rey. Saturday night, Sergio Ramos scored on a header from a corner kick in the 82nnd minute to give Real a 2-1 win La Liga play. Karim Benzema opened the scoring in the eighth minute for Madrid but Messi got the equalizer, his record tying 18th goal in the storied rivalry, just ten minutes later. It has been a tough two weeks for the Blaugrana who also lost 2-0 at Milan in Champions League play back on February 20th.

Wanderlei Silva and Mark Hunt star on UFC on Fuel 8

Wanderlei Silva and Mark Hunt were the big winners on the UFC on Fuel 8 card from Japan Saturday night. In a back and forth battle of haymakers reminiscent of Hagler/Hearns, Silva took out Brian Stann with a combo and brutal ground and pound at the 4:08 mark of the second round. In a battle of giant heavyweights, 5’10” Mark Hunt knocked out 7’0″ Stefan Struve at 1:44 of the third round. Silva and Stann got 50K Fight of the Night bonuses while Silva and Hunt each got 50K in sharing Knockout of the Night honors. There were no submissions on the card.
