The Atlanta Braves extended their lead in the NL East to double-digits with a 6-4 victory over Philadelphia. It was the Bravos 8th straight win.

Eric Young’s walk off homer with two outs in the 11th inning gave the New York Mets a 4-2 win over Kansas City, snapping the Royals winning streak at nine games.

The Dodgers tied an 89-year old club record with their 12th straight road win beating the Cubs 6-2 at Wrigley Field.

The Cleveland Indians eight-game win streak came to an end as the Tribe was crushed 10-0 at Miami. Jose Fernandez struck out 14 in seven innings to pick up the win.

Tiger ties career low round with 61, leads Bridgestone by seven shots

At 9-under through 13 holes, Tiger Woods was poised to do what just five men have done in golf ….. shoot 59. It didn’t happen as Tiger parred out to tie for his best round ever with a 61, good for a seven shot lead at the Bridgestone Open. Woods had the putter going early with 11 one-putts in the first 13 holes. he drained a 25-footer on 18 for a bogey free round.

Cooper excuse for sensitivity training

Riley Cooper was excused from all activities at the Eagles training camp, ostensibly to get some sensitivity training. Riley has been under siege since a video of him making a racial slur at a Kenny Chesney concert went viral early this week. If you somehow missed the Cooper rant you can see it bey clicking here.

Oden signs with Heat

After three years out of the league, oft-injured former first overall pick Greg Oden will sign with the Miami Heat. Oden has battled knee problems his entire 82 game NBA career and has had several micro-fracture surgeries in an effort to recover. He has not played since December 5, 2009. Oden told the press that Miami’s insistence that he would not be needed as much early in the season played a big part in his decision.

Clint Dempsey set to transfer to Sounders of the MSL

US men’s national soccer team star Clint Dempsey is transferring from ELP’s Tottenham Hotspur to the MLS’s Portland Sounders. The transfer fee of $9 million will be an MSL record as will Dempsey’s four-year $32 million base salary deal. Dempsey has 99 caps for the US and his 35 goals is second all-time to Landon Donovan. Aldo favored over Korean Zombie at UFC 163

Jose “Scarface” Aldo will defend his featherweight title against Chan Sung “The Korean Zombie” Jung Saturday at UFC 163 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Aldo, who hasn’t lost in eight years and is fighting on home soil, is a prohibitive -750 favorite. You can get +375 on the Zombie on the take back. In the co-feature, Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida is a -375 favorite over Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis in a light heavyweight tilt. A bet on Davis will return +285.
