MLB News and Notes
The Miami Marlins handed the L.A. Dodgers their second consecutive loss last night, 6-2 in South Beach. It was the Bums first back-to-back losses since June 20-21st vs San Diego at Petco Park. The Dodgers are now 42-10 in their L52 and 19-3 in their L22 road games.
The horrific injury riddled season of Albert Pujols has finally come to an end as the Angels announced that their power hitting first-baseman will not return this year. Washington beats Pittsburg on Monday Night Football
In last night’s MNF debut from Fed Ex Field, the Washington Redskins beat Pittsburg 24-13. It wasn’t a pretty football game that featured seven turnovers and 15 penalties. Kirk Cousin started for the Skins, going 2-3 before exiting with a foot injury. He’ll have an MRI today. Ben Roethlisberger went 5-6 in a quarter of play but also threw a pick six on a screen pass. Steeler rookie running back Le’Veon Bell was also injured with a foot injury similar to Cousins. The game opened with Pittsburg at -1 and closed Washington -3 so the public had the right side all week. Under players also cashed their tickets.
