National drop five spot on Verlander and roll

One of the bigger stories of All-Star game weekend was … what the hell was Pablo Sandoval doing starting for the National League at third base ??? Well … maybe all the Giant fans that stuffed the ballot box for the Kung Fu Panda knew what they were doing. Sandoval’s three-run triple off Justin Verlander highlighted a five-run National League first inning in the NL’s whitewash of the American League. The National League pitchers dominated the American League allowing just six hits as the AL sustained it’s worst beating in All-Star game history. Melky Cabrera chipped in with a two-run homer to take down MVP honors. It was the National League’s third straight win in the series and the National League champion will have home field in the World series.
