“When they put my bust in the hall tomorrow, I’d like to be somewhere near Lawrence Taylor so I can keep an eye on that sucker.”

“I’ve often thought about that day back in 1996 when you drafted me instead of Lawrence Phillips, I think that worked out well for everybody.”
NFL opens today with the Cowboys and Dolphins
The NFL preseason opens today with the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio where the Miami Dolphins are -2.5 favorites with the total settled in at 33. The game opened Miami -1 and 34.5 but a mid-week infusion of Dolphin and Under money has moved the line to where it is currently. Tony Romo is not expected to play for Dallas. Remember to proceed with caution in preseason as it is a completely different animal. Due you due diligence regarding quarterback rotations and how long starters will be allowed to play, particularly offensive lines. Also remember that the traditional “magic” numbers of 3,4,6 and 7 are virtually meaningless in August as teams will often go for two of go for touchdowns rather than kick field goals to avoid overtime and senseless injuries. A “key” number in preseason is often plus or minus 1 1/2.
