Week III in the NFLX, the dress rehearsal

Week III in the NFL is generally considered the “dress rehearsal” for the regular season where starter play the entire first half and many times into the third quarter. This where starting jobs still up in the air are decided and then next week, subs and free agents will have their chance to to fill out roster spots as back ups and special team players. It is imperative to due your work tonight taking special care with quarterback rotations and monitoring how long starting defenses are scheduled to play. Good luck and don’t forget to check out a SP3 sponsor for the best in customer service, strongest numbers, and the best bonuses in the industry.

Week III starts with three Thursday NFLX games starting with Green Bay Packers traveling to Cincinnati to face the Bengals. The Packers are minus a FG and the total has been bet all the way up to 45 and the hook. Look for much tighter performances from Green Bay and in particular Aaron Rodgers as both have been horrific in the preseason. Weather will be warm but near perfect and not a factor. The Ravens host the Jags in Baltimore and will give 6.5 with the total unmoved at 41. In the Thursday night finale, Tennessee opened up as a -4 favorite over Arizona …. now down to FG. The total opened at 40 and has been bet up from 40 to 42 and is heading North. The Over was 14-2 or 13-2-1 last week. Again, weather will be no factor here.

Skip Bayless: the world’s highest paid professional A-hole

Years ago, a middling sports journalist names Skip Bayless made the best decision of his life by creating his own niche in the industry …. professional A-hole. It has served him well on ESPN’s First Take and he has even been nominated for an Emmy. With no consequences for his actions, in this clip he infers that Derek Jeter’s monster season at age 38 might be the result of PEDs, in particular HGH. Watch for yourself and you make the call.

MLB Diamond Dust

The A’s Bartolo Colon has joined Melky Cabrera as the second player in a week to be suspended 50 games for failing a drug test. Colon was flagged for elevated testosterone levels. A former Cy Young award winner with the Angels, Colon was 10-9 with a 3.43 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 91 strikeouts in 152 1/3 innings this season for the resurgent A’s who are just a half game out of the American League wildcard race.

From the A’s

“The Oakland Athletics are disappointed to learn of today’s suspension of pitcher Bartolo Colon,” the club said in a statement. “The organization fully supports Major League Baseball’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program and its efforts to eliminate performance-enhancing substances from our game. Per the Basic Agreement, the A’s will have no further comment.”

From Colon

“I apologize to the fans, to my teammates and to the Oakland A’s,” Colon said in a statement. “I accept responsibility for my actions and I will serve my suspension as required by the Joint Drug Program.”
