Jets, Chiefs, Titans win in OT, the Saints drop to 0-3
The NFL remains unpredictable and the dogs keep barking. Sunday in the NFL the dogs went 10-3-1 with the under cashing in at 9-5. For the week, the dogs are 10-4-1 and the under 10-5. Home teams didn’t fare as well this week going 7-8 through Sunday as opposed to last week’s lights out 14-2. It could have been a lot worse for the homies had it not been for two final play kicks by Oakland and Baltimore and the Lions OT brain cramp.
Overtime was the name of the game in the early games with the Jets/Miami, Detroit/Tennessee, and Kansas City/New Orleans all needing extra time. The Jets dodged a bullet when the Miami missed what would have been a winning 41-yard FG. The Flyboys connected for three on the following possession. Detroit scored two touchdowns in the final 18seconds to force their overtime then bypassed a chip shot tying FG in the extra stanza to go on fourth-and-one and got stuffed. Kansas City dropped the Saints to 0-3 in notching their first win of the season. Jamaal Charles ran wild gaining 233 yards on 33 carries for the Chiefs.
In the Sunday night feature, the Ravens downed the Pats 31-30 on a 27-yard field goal on the game’s final play. Torry Smith had 6 catches for 127 yards and two touchdown for the Ravens less than 24 hours after his brother was killed in a motorcycle accident. The Pats led 13-0 and 31-21 heading into the fourth quarter but could not hold on squandering a 28-41 335 night from Tom Brady.
In tonight’s MNF action, the 1-1 Packers travel to Seattle to face the 1-1 Seahawks. The Game opened and has remained at Green Bay -3.5 while a ton of under money has knocked the high/low down from 47.5 to 44 1/2. The teams haven’t met since ’09 when Green Bay won 48-10 at Lambeau Field. The Packers have split their last four trip here. Green Bay has had an extra four days to prepare while Seahawk backup QB Matt Flynn was signed from Green Bay over the summer and should be able to help gameplan every aspect of the Packers game.

Snedecker wins Tour Championship and the Fed Ex Cup
Brandt Snedecker had to win the Tour Championship to win the Fed Ex Cup and it’s $10 million dollar bonus. Snedecker’s final round 68 (-10 for the tournament) was good enough for the double-dip, the Tour Championship and the Fed Ex Cup. The elite field of the best 30 left standing made it easy on the Tennessee native as he was the only player in the last five groups to break par. Justin Rose finished a distant three shots back. Tiger Woods finished T-8 at -2 for 72 holes, Phil Mickelson was T-15 at plus one.
