Team USA beats Spain 107-100 to capture gold

Kevin Durant led the US with 30 points and breaking the Olympic single tournament scoring record with 156 points. Pao Gasol had 24 points for Spain in defeat. Andrew Luck brilliant in debut, Colts rout Rams 38-3

Andrew Luck was nothing short of brilliant in his debut for the Colts. Luck was 10-16 for a 188 yards and two scores as the Indianapolis starched the Rams 38-3. Like Peyton Manning before him in 1998, the No.1 pick out of Stanford completed the first pass of his NFL career for a touchdown. Under intense pressure, Luck calmly checked down to his third option, RB Donald Brown, who calmly weaved his way through traffic for 63-yard touchdown. Luck played all but the final series of the first half leading the homies to a 21-3 halftime lead. The public was a small winner Sunday as the game opened pick but settles into Colts -1.5 around town and offshore. The total opened 33.5 and closed 35 for another small win for the good guys.

Tonight, Oakland and Dallas, the only two teams yet to play in NFLX action open their seasons at Oakland. The game opened at Raiders -1.5, got hit with some early Cowboy money, but is back to Oakland -1.5 at 12:00 PM EST. The total has made a small move from 34 to 35. As far as quarterback rotations go, the Cowboys are expect to use Tony Romo, Kyle Orton, Stephen McGee. and Rudy Carpenter. The Raiders will counter with Carson Palmer (check status), Matt Leinart, Terelle Pryor, and possibly rookie Kyle Caballero.

Ambrose repeats win at Watkins Glen

The Aussie who coined the phrase “checker or wrecker” has picked up his second Nascar victory. Marcos Ambrose blew by Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski in the final two laps to defend his Watkin’s Glen road course title. Keselowski settled for second, Jimmie Johnson third, Clint Bowyer fourth, and Sam Harnisch Jr fifth to round out the top five. There was a pretty good shake up in the Chase standing with Jimmie Johnson vaulting to the lead, one point better than Greg Biffle, two points better than Matt Kenseth, 17 points clear of last week’s leader Dale Earnhardt Jr who finished 28th at the Glen, with Keselowski now fifth.
Check out the finish, it is definitely worth seeing.

MLB Diamond Dust

Manny Machado hit the third home run of his four game MLB career to help lead the surging Baltimore Orioles to a 5-3 win over the Kansas City Royals. Nick Markakis also homered and the O’s bullpen pitched four scoreless innings to seal the deal. Baltimore is 7-3 in their L10 just a half game back of second place Tampa Bay in the AL East and holding on to the final AL wild card spot.
