Brees has big night as Saints hand Miami first loss

Through the first three weeks of the season, the New Orleans Saints offense struggled. Not last night vs. the Dolphins. Drew Brees threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns as New Orleans rolled over Miami 38-17. Brees became the sixth leading yardage passer of all-time on the Saints first drive surpassing Fran Tarkenton’s 47,003 yards. The Saints defense shined once again forcing Fish quarterback Ryan Tannehill into two key first half turnovers. Favorite and over players got the money.

Price throws complete game as Rays advance to Cleveland

David Price pitched a complete game seven-hitter to send Tampa Bay through to a Wednesday one-game wildcard showdown at Cleveland. Evan Longoria delivered the big blow with a two-run homer in the 5-2 Rays win. Price was wild early but settled down after picking off two Ranger runners early. The former Cy Young award winner entered the game with a 1-7 record and a 5.77 ERA in 11 career starts against the Rangers.

LeBron and Wade not talking about impending free agency

As the Miami Heat prepare for their run at a Three-peat, their big three of LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosch can all opt-out of their deals at the end of this season. Now that wouldn’t likely be a problem if the Heat get their third straight wing but what if ??? James and Wade are doing their best to deflect the question.

From LeBron

“For me, being a leader of this team, I owe it to this organization, to my teammates to not get involved in it, to not talk about it,” James told reporters. “I’m not going to address it.

“Once we get to that point, I’ll address it,” he said. “I don’t think it’s appropriate to talk about it right now.”

The NHL regular season opens tonight with triple-header

The NHL straps it up for real tonight with a frozen pond triple-header. Montreal is a -125 home favorite over the Toronto Maple Leafs with the total set at 5 1/2. The Blackhawks open their defense of the Stanley Cup as -170 home ice bullies over Washington. The 5 1/2 high/low is shaded 20 cents to the over. In the nightap, Edmonton entertains Winnipeg. The Oilers are -115 over the Jets and the 5 1/2 under will cost you 15 cents. Sportsbetting3 will start featuring hockey on a more regular basis from here on out.
