Sportsbetting3 CBB Free Plays: Thursday, January 12, 2012

Back-to-back 3-1 college basketball free pick nights at Sportsbetting3 so we’ll stay with the same winning formula today.
In last night’s college hoops, #1 Syracuse pounded Villanova on the road to remain unbeaten. #2 Kentucky took 30 minutes to flick the switch before beating Auburn by 15 points. The Wildcats closed the show on a 23-6 run. Pitt got hammered 62-39 at home by Rutgers. The Panthers are 0-4 in the Big East and this is going to be a long year for Jamie Wright. #13 Michigan needed OT to turn away Northwestern. Kansas blew out Texas Tech in never-in-doubt fashion. Temple won straight up at St Louis is a key A-14 matchup. Lets get busy.

Purdue -2.5 over Wisconsin

After watching this year’s Badgers in non-conference play, SP3 really thought that this might be one of the better Wisky teams of late. After seeing them open the Big Ten play, it’s obvious that they miss Jon Leuer and are just a slightly above average Big Ten team. The Badgers have lost three straight avgg just 55 ppg and travel to Purdue where they’ve lost five straight at Mackey Arena. The home team has won four straight in the series and 10 of the L13. The Boilers are 9-0 at home but have faced nobody. Looking for Purdue to extend late and hoping Boilers 61% from the foul line won’t be a factor in closing this out late. Purdue in a lower scoring affair.

Wofford +2.5 over UT Chatanooga

Not really sure why UT Chat is favored here. The Mocs have won a couple in a row at home but if you look back, you’ll find home losses to Gardner Webb and a very ordinary Butler team. Wofford is a hit and miss kinda team but they show a big win over College of Charleston so they can play some. The Terriers are 18-9 in their L27 as a road dog and also fit 12-4 spot after scoring less than 60 points in their previous. Add to the mix Wofford’s 3-0 SU and ATS record in the L3 of the series and their 6-1 ATS mark L7 at Chat and we have a pretty strong side off the extra board. Take Wofford.

Oregon pick over Arizona State

This is not so much a play or the Oregon Ducks as it is a fade of freefalling Arizona State. The Sun Devils are 1-5 SU and ATS in their L6 and missing their top scorer (dismissed from team) and the starting backcourt (suspended). With no guards, it’s easy to see how they turn the ball over on 26% of their possessions. The Ducks split their first four conference games but they’re 9-0 vs teams not in the Top 100. The Quack Attack is average but they have done some nice things and really have no excuse for not coming away with a win here.

Nevada -16 over San Jose State

The Wolf Pack has won ten straight and is really starting to roll. They played a pretty good non-conference schedule and even in losses to BYU, UNLV, and Missouri State played tough. Reno off two very good straight up wins as a road dog running roughshod over Idaho and then winning at nearly impossible Utah State. San Jose State is 1-7 on the road with their win coming at Seattle. The Spartans show road losses by 45 to Cal and by 26 to Santa Clara. SJSU lost last by 13 at Hawaii so jet lag could also be a factor here. Nevada rolls to easy 20+ win.
