Point guards are always in demand and Rondo has a very cap friendly contract with three years left with around $33 million. The Jazz are 2-8 in their L10 and looking to shake things up. PG Devin Harris and big man CJ Miles could be on the block. The Lakers could be in the mix for Harris. The Magic are making overtures for Monta Ellis but have little for Golden State in return. Several teams including the Mavs are looking at Steve Nash but Phoenix is reportedly not interested in any deals.

Today is the 50th anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point game.

The top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats took Georgia behind the woodshed 79-49 on senior night in Lexington. UK is clearly the best team in college basketball and the team to beat in this year’s NCAA tournament. (CBB) Delaware -12 over Towson State (please note that this is a 2:30 PM EST matinee tip)

The Towson State Tigers are 1-30 this year and 1-36 in the Colonial over the past two years. It’s pretty much a given that Delaware here but will they win the way keep score ??? Well … the Hens have won eight straight games going 6-2 vs the number. One of those wins was a 76-69 (-9) win at Towson. Delaware pummeled the Tigers 62-43 (-13) on their home floor back on Jan 23rd. The Hens are 4-2 as a CAA favorite and 18-8 ATS over the last three years against sub .500s. There’s no reason for Delaware to take the foot off the pedal here. Lay the points.

(CBB) Detroit -5 over Youngstown State (please not that this is a 6:00 PM EST tip)

It has been a Tale of Two Seasons for the Detroit Titans who decimated with injuries the first two months of the season. Motown is about as healthy as they’ve been all year and it’s showed as the Titans have gone 12-3 down the stretch vs the Horizon. Youngstown is 5-5 SU and ATS in their L10 and one of those games was a 76-74 home court loss to Detroit las week. YSU won the first go around 64-61 in the Motor City but again, Detroit was short-handed and nothing like the team they will send out tonight. Throw the techs out the window and go with the hot handed playing their best basketball at the right time.

(CBB) Akron +3.5 over Kent State

Both teams have lost three of their last four so both teams need a win to get healthy here. Akron is arguably the best team in a VERY weak MAC and suffered several of their ten losses in a very tough non-conf schedule that featured Mississippi State, West Virginia, VCU, and should have the Zips tournament toughened for this type of the year. The first matchup cound be telling as Akron came back from eight down at the half to beat the Flashes 84-75 hitting 56% from the field. in SP3s opinion, Kent State is somewhat counterfeit. Akron straight up.

(NBA) Clippers -2 over Phoenix

This is the Clippers third game in four nights, the Suns played last night so no real advantage as far as legs go. Both teams have been treading water in their L10 games and this is the first meeting between the Suns and the “New” Clippers. What could be telling here is the Suns 8-10 SU and 7-9-1 ATS in the Valley of the Sun and nowhere near as deep or athletic as the team they face tonight. The Clippers are 6-3 SU and ATS in their L9 roadies and are the better team here. Clippers 101-92.
