Free plays went 2-2 on Tuesday with a 2-0 sweep in college hoops. Coming hard on the college hardwood tonight with three big plays including the Kansas/Baylor rematch and duke/North Carolina on the ESPN late show. Miami at Orlando is the NBA feature play as we look to get back in black with a perfect 4-0 Wednesday.
(CBB) Drexel -7 over James Madison
How about them Drexel Dragons. Winners of 11 straight and 18 out of their L19, Drexel saw their run of 11 straight covers snapped in last winning by nine over Townson State in game they were favored by 17. James Madison has been a pyromaniac at home, 1-7 ATS this year, 8-24 over the last three years. The Dollies are 3-2 SU and ATS in the L5 of the series but are 2-8 in their L10 with six losses by double-digits and showing absolutely no buy signs. Drexel 68-55.
(CBB) Kansas +1.5 over Baylor
The Jayhawks waxed the Bears 92-74 in Lawrence handing the Bears their first loss. In that game, Kansas shot 57% from the field including 6-11 from behind the arc. Kansas has struggled on the road losing their last two and the J’Hawks are 0-2 as a dog losing at Mizzou and Duke in non-conf action. Baylor has won four straight since their B2B losses but they’ve been hands and knees to win and blown big leads in the others during current 1-5 ATS run. Kansas may not be the best matchup for Baylor we’ll call for the Rock Chalks to win here straight up.
(CBB) Duke +7 over North Carolina
The Blue Devils have have folled their last 12 straight up losse with wins and that’s the spot we find themselves in that position hete. The Dukies have don their best work on the road 4-0 SU and ATS on the ACC highway. They had some succes on the Dean Smith floor going 8-6 SU and ATS but more imprtantly, the Devils have won four of five in the series.
If a 20-3 team could be disappointing, it would be this edition of the Tar Heels who play no defense which has resulted in an overall 10-11 ATS mark. UNC might have been just going through the motions and this might be the game that brings out the best in the Heels but we doubt it. This one gets decided in the final minute in a lower scoring game. Grab the points.
(NBA) Miami -4 over Orlando
This is the Heat’s third game in four nights, the Magic’s fourth game in six nights. Miami has won eight of none and the Magic three of four so both team are playing well. Neither team has done bettors any favors and the spot gives no hints as the Heat are 4-7 ATS on the road and the Magic just 5-8 vs the points at the Amway Center. This is the first meeting this year so … Miami seems to play up and down to their competition and South Beach is 8-3 vs winning records this year. Prefer the more consistent Heat to do what it takes in what could be their final game in Orlando vs Dwight Howard. Miami come away with Florida bragging rights here.
