Jacksonville at Indianapolis Under 38
The Jags are averaging just 12.4 ppg for the year as Jacksonville transitions into the Blaine Gabbert era. The Colts are avgg just 14.2 ppg in their Suck for luck quest and were basically shut out last week by Atlanta getting their points on a defensive score. The Colts will stack the box to shut down Maurice Jones Drew leaving Del Rio and the Jags rookie QB few options. The Jaguar defense will be the best unit on the field and always play hard. Add to the mix, their fresh legs and extra prep time as Jax is off the bye. This could be a game played between the 20s and just might be decided by the PKickers. These two could play twice and not score 38. Play the Under.
Buffalo +5.5 over Dallas
If you throw out wins over the hapless Rams and Seahawks and the blowout loss to the Eagles, the last 11 Cowboy games have been decided by four points or less. The Pokes are also just 2-8 as home faves in Jerry’s House. The Bills are 4-0 as an underdog this year and come off their worst performance of the year vs the Jets. Fitzpatrick was awful vs Gang Green but might simply be explained away as the NYJ is a bad matchup for the Bills. Chan Gailey had a short tenure as HC of the Cowboys replacing Barry Switzer. He’ll be extremely motivated to show well here. Bills straight up.
St Louis +2 over Cleveland
The Rams are the Rams. After getting spanked by the Cowboys three weeks ago, they played a nearly perfect game in upsetting the Saints for their first win of the year. The followed that up by blowing three leads at Arizona before giving it up in OT on a 90-yard Patrick Peterson punt return. The Browns are 0-5 in their L5 games as chalk and 2-14 vs the points in their L16 overall. The Brownies do little to nothing on offense so a helathy dose of Stephen Jackson (two straight 100s) and Bradford to Lloyd should be more than enough to get a win here.
Baltimore -7 over Seattle
The Ravens have more personalities than Sybil. This is a team with four double-digits wins and last week’s improbable final drive win over the Steelers but also the same one that lost to Jacksonville in a game where they didn’t allow a touchdown. This is a classic sandwich situation for Balt which has the upstart Bengals on deck in a key division tilt. Seattle is 0-3 since the bye losing by a combined 35 points. The SHawks have two TDs in their L34 drives and both TDs started on drives beginning in enemy territory. We all know the Blackbirds can bring the heat with the pass rush and they’ll face an OL that has allowed 29 sacks at the half way mark. Flacco has yet to prove he can play well in B2Bs but a big effort here might temporarily put Flacco haters to bed.
