16 San Antonio treys bury Miami 113-77

It was “no contest” in Alamo City Tuesday night as the Spurs blew out Miami by 36 in the third worst beat down in NBA Finals history. The Spurs blew open a 50-44 game at the half with a 28-19 third quarter and never looked back. Danny Green and Gary Neal provided the offense with 27 and 24 respectively, most of it coming on a barrage of threes. San Antonio hit a record 16 (for 32) trifectas in the game. The Spurs big three could only manage a combined 25 points but the supporting cast was more than enough. Lebron James was held to less than 20 for the third straight game and finished with a 15/11/5 game line.

Game IV is Thursday night in San Antonio and the Spurs are -1.5 point favorites with the total set at 187 1/2. Since January 10th, the Heat are 11-0 SU and ATS off a loss with an average margin of victory of better than 20 points.

MLB News and Notes

Max Scherzer became the first Tiger starter since 1938 to start a season 9-0 after beating the Kansas City Royals 3-2 on Tuesday night. Scherzer allowed just two runs on three hits in seven innings as Motown snapped the Royals six game winning streak.

It was base-brawl in Los Angeles and the Dodgers and Diamondbacks exchanged beanballs that led to a bench clearing brawl and five ejections. It all started when Snake starter Ian Kennedy, who was cruising with a 2-0 lead in the sixth, hit Dodger rookie phenom Yasiel Puig in the face with a pitch up and in. Around the league at the NFL OTAs

RG III showed that he was way ahead of schedule in his knee rehab when he demonstrated “explosive” sprinting yesterday at the Skins mini-camp. Griffin was seen sprinting sideline to sideline with little difficulty.

As previously reported here at SB3, Ben Roethlisberger had his right knee cleaned up on June 5th and feels great. Roethlisberger told reporters at Steelers camp that if there was a game on Sunday, he’s play.

Tim Tebow’s deal with the Patriots is for two years and no guaranteed money. Tebow can earn incentives based on playing time that does not necessarily have to come at quarterback.

US closes in on World Cup berth by dominating Panama

The United States National Men’s soccer team played it’s best game under the tenure of Jurgen Klinsmann by beating Panama 2-0 in last night’s World Cup qualifier played in Seattle. Jozy Altidore scored for the third straight game and Eddie Johnson added an insurance tally in front of his hometown crowd. The US now leads the Conacaf hex by two points (with a game in hand) over Costa Rica and Mexico and has virtually guaranteed itself a spot in next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
