MLB suspends eight for DBack/Dodgers brawl
The hammer finally fell on the DBacks and Dodgers for their beanball war and brawl on Wednesday. Arizona pitcher Ian Kennedy got 10 games for his part in instigating the brawl and for throwing at the head of opposing pitcher Zack Greinke. Both managers were suspended a game as well as a Dodger hitting coach Mark McGuire.
Cruz signs tender, Gronk under the knife again
Giant’s wide receiver Victor Cruz has signed a one-year, restricted free-agent tender worth $2.879 million. The fourth year man out of UMass is now obligated to report without holding out but also opens the door to a longer extension down the road.
Patriot TE Rob Gronkowski is in the news again and for what else …. surgery. Gronk will have his sixth procedure in 16 months Tuesday when has a chronic disc problem worked on in his lower back. Gronkowski suffered from back problems in college that included surgery that cost him his senior year.
