2011 Kentucky Derby Odds & 2011 Kentucky Derby 137 Favorites

We’re just days away from the running of the 137th Kentucky Derby, slated for this Saturday, May 7th, 2011, with Post Time at 6:24 PM EST. If history is any indication of who’ll win this year’s “Run for the Roses”, it will probably be a horse with long odds and little interest from the general public (hint: remember Mine That Bird?). Early odds tend to be completely unreliable, but it’s worth discussing them anyway, just for the sake of Kentucky Derby Betting.

So who’s the favorite heading in? According to odds posted at KentuckyDerby.info, “Uncle Mo” is the one to beat, favored at +250 in Kentucky Derby futures betting. “Dialed In” comes next at +400. Rounding out the top three is “Nehro”, handicapped at +600.

The next five are a little closer, comprising a clear “mid-pack” that will follow the leaders out of the gates. “Soldat” is +800; “Archarcharch” is +1000; “Midnight Interlude” is +1000; “Shackleford” is +1200; and “Mucho Macho Man” is +1200. See the table below for a complete list of current odds.
