A Daily Double Bet is picking the winners of two consecutive horse races. Place a straight daily double or daily double wheel. The daily double wheel variant has its own mechanics and cost. This tutorial explains how to place each daily double bet. See example bets and cost tables below.
A winning daily double bet can produce a substantial payout. Make these bets with caution. Doubles on heavy favorites can face long odds. It is even rarer for doubles on two longshots to win.

Pick the winners of two consecutive horse races. The horse betting site or racetrack will specify which races are eligible for the daily double bet.
Place this bet on the same day with the first two or last two races. Daily Doubles are also available for events spanning two days. This commonly happens with the Kentucky Oaks/Kentucky Derby double.
Your daily double wins if both horses win their races.
Note the will-pays for daily doubles. Projected payouts will be posted after the first event has concluded.

How to place a Daily Double bet
- Create a new horse betting account or login to your existing account
Create a new player account at one of our recommended horse betting sites or login to your existing account.
- Choose a race track and upcoming races
Review the horse betting site’s list of horse tracks and upcoming races. Morning line odds are typically available about 3-5 hours before wagering begins.
- Select a daily double bet from the wagering menu
Tap “Daily Double” bet from the horse racing’s wagering menu. You might need to tap open exotics or “other” wagers to display the daily double bet.
- Choose the winners of consecutive races from the list of eligible daily double races, then book the wager
Choose a horse to win one race and another horse to the next race. A daily double bet costs $2.
- Your daily double bet wins if both horses win their races
Carefully review the race results. If each horse you picked won their respective race, your daily double bet wins.
Example Ticket:
$2 Straight Daily Double on Horse 3, Race #1 and Horse 6, Race #2 means you are betting $2 that horses 3 and 6 will win their races.

A Daily Double box bet is not possible.
Box bets allow multiple horses to finish in different positions. A daily double restricts bettors to choosing the winning horses in 2 different races. Therefore, you can’t “daily double box” multiple horses because only one finishing position is available.

A Daily Double Wheel bet is picking sets of horses to finish first in each race. Each set is called a key. Each key contains 1 or more horses.
Two Daily Double Wheel Bets
Note: Each race has it’s own key.
Daily Double Full Wheel – Select one horse for the first race’s key. Put all horses from the second race in the second race’s key. Alternatively, wheel 1 horse from the second race with all horses from the first race.
Daily Double Part Wheel – Select your own horses for the first race’s key. Select your own horses for the second race’s key. The part wheel does not include all horses from each race.
Daily Double Wheel Details
Your daily double wheel wins if a horse from the first race’s key wins the first race and a horse from the second race’s key wins the second race.

This calculation is straightforward. Multiply the number of horses in each key together. The product is the number of combinations. Then multiply the combinations by the cost per combination.

- Daily Double Bet – Pick the winners of two consecutive horse races from the horse track’s list of eligible races. For more flexibility, you can try a daily double wheel bet. You can’t box a daily double bet.
- Pick 3, 4, 5, or 6 Bets – Pick the winners of 3, 4, 5, or 6 consecutive horse races. Like the Pick 3, you’ll need to review the horse track’s list of eligible races before placing this longshot wager. You can also wheel a Pick bet.
