Win, Place, and Show are the most common bets placed at . These bets are grea for betting on one or two horses. More advanced bets let you bet on multiple horses in sets and keys, like the trifecta bet and superfecta bet. You can also bet on the winners of different races with the daily double.
Win Bet
The Win bet is picking a horse to finish first. The Win payout at depends on the horse's odds before the race. Win bets on long-shot horses will pay more than heavy favorites.

Place Bet
The Place bet is picking a horse to finish second. The bet also pays if your horse finishes first. Place bets usually pay less than a successful win bet unless a long-shot horse ends up finishing in the top two. That's because a Place bet gives your horse two possible finishing positions to cash.

Show Bet
The Show bet is picking a horse to finish third. The bet also pays if your horse finishes first or second. Show payouts will be much lower compared to a winning Win or Place payout for the same horse. With a place bet, your horse has three possible finishing positions to cash.

Win-Place-Show
Add a win, place and show bet on the same horse into one combination bet. This wager is also called an "Across the Board" bet. Some horse bettors place use this bet on multiple horses. Make sure your online racebook offers Win-Place-Show bets. Sometimes, these bets are only available for major events and graded stakes races.
Race results determine your payout. The bet pays the most if your horse finishes first. You would collect on all 3 bets.
The bet pays the least if your horse finishes third. You would only collect on your show bet and lose your win and place bets.
